Monita Janitorial Keeping Your Home Clean

Keeping your home clean can be a daunting task. While daily tidying is no substitute for a regular thorough cleaning on a weekly or biweekly basis, if you actually live in your home getting it professionally cleaned once a week or so is no substitute for daily tidying. Most people want a home that is not just clean, but also looks tidy, neat, and presentable. There are a few things you can do to keep your home looking tidier.

Clean Your Kitchen Every Night

Sure, you are tired at the end of the day. You look at your dishes and think “I’ll do those in the morning.” However, when life happens, you end up leaving the kitchen a mess. Before you know it, you are looking for paper plates because all of the dishes are dirty.

Avoid that mess. Wash your dishes and clean your counters, tables, and other kitchen surfaces nightly. This not only makes your kitchen look better but discourages rodents and insects. Run the dishwasher over night or leave hand washed dishes out to dry. With just a few minutes in the morning, you can put away clean dishes.

Make Your Bed

People can argue over whether making your bed is more hygienic, it is definitely tidier. Making your bed protects your sheets from dust, dirt, and pet dander. It also makes your sheets tidy, so you do not have straighten it up before crawling into bed. More importantly, making your bed helps establish a tidy mindset.

Take Out the Trash

Some people suggest taking out trash every night. If you have any type of problem with insects or rodents, this is great advice. If not, make sure you are throwing food waste in a secure trash can in one room and using wastebaskets for paper waste. Take your trash out regularly and do not set full trash bags outside of the can on the floor.

Get Rid of Junk

You should be purging stuff regularly. Instead of waiting for a yearly spring cleaning, dedicate some time each month to getting rid of clutter. It will make your house easier to clean and more organized. It will also keep you from becoming overwhelmed when it is time to declutter.

Clear Your Floors

Whether it is the kids spreading toys or grownups dropping towels, dirty laundry, or shoes on the floors, cluttered floors are a hazard. They make it difficult to keep clean and can make even the tidiest room look like a mess. Instead of dropping things on the floor, put them where they belong. After kids play, encourage them to clean up their toys when they are finished. If your floors are clear, you can use a robot vacuum or quickly sweep or vacuum if you notice dirt or grime.
